The first driver up in our "A Look Ahead" Series will be Connor Maltese. Racing out of Sunset Speedway in the Super Stock division. The third year super stock driver will be looking to make a splash from his fifth place points finish in 2023. The team has been busy this off season getting the #23 ready for the annual Motorama Custom Car and Motorsports Expo where they will unveil the new look #23 for the 2024 season in the Sunset Speedway booth of the show in Hall 1b.
With the 2024 season fast approaching drivers and teams are preparing for their upcoming season and with that in mind the drivers and teams start setting their goals for the upcoming season. Connor is no different, lets dive into the goals for the driver of the #23. As we get closer on waving the checkered flag on the off season and wave the green flag on the race season the Maltese Motorsports driver has been making upgrades to his car to stay competitive in the class.
We asked Connor about his mindset heading into the 2024 season, " My mindset heading into the season is to run up front and contend for some wins" Connor told JoMo Media. With Sunset Speedway hosting so many events it's hard for any driver to pick one. For Connor, he is looking forward to the Frank Davey Memorial race on May 25th. The competition is looking tight in the super stock division at Sunset Speedway with Connor adding "It will be nice to race with a bigger pack of cars".
The pit crew is the back bone of the race team to insure that the car and driver are prepared to hit the track each week. Connor would like to thank the Maltese Motorsports crew members of Paul Maltese, Susan Maltese and Dylan O' Connell.
