On today's "A Look Ahead" we sat down with Donovan Price, driver of the 96 Durham Muay Thai Kickboxing in the Super Stock Division at Peterborough Speedway. In 2023, Donovan picked up one fast race car in a raffle. Last season, the Courtice, Ontario driver finished fifth in the driver standings competing in all nine events at the speedway last season.
With the 2024 season sneaking up on us faster than anticipated we talked to Donovan about the upcoming season. Donovan is looking to build on what he finished with in 2023, "I have made some changes to the car and very hungry for a win." says Price. One of the biggest races at Peterborough Speedway this summer is always opening night. With it being FREE Admission at the track it's also the popular Fan Appreciation Night, fans will have the opportunity to come onto the track and meet their favourite drivers. With the United Racing Series Qwick Wick Super Stock series coming through town on June 15th to Canada's Toughtest 1/3 mile Donovan is looking to make a start with the series and capitalize on the knowledge of being a home track driver.
If you ask any driver they will always tell you the same thing. The race is won in the shop, teams have spent the better part of the off season working on their cars to make improvements and that is no different then the 96 camp. "We made some changes to the car to fit my driving style and get some top notch help with setups." says Donovan. With the changes to the car Donovan and team is expecting to compete for wins on a nightly basis and be there at the end for the championship.
