Jacob Ross, the 2021 NASCAR Late Model Champion at Grand Bend Speedway will return to compete for a second title in 2024. The 20 year old wheel man who has been racing for 12 seasons enters his 13th with a determination to take his competition to the next level. Over the winter the Ross Motorsports team picked up a new to them late model which will compete at Grand Bend Speedway. In 2024, Jacob plans to compete full time in the Pro Late Model division at the facility. That won't be the only racing the youngster will compete in 2024. Once the season wraps up at Grand Bend the Ross Motorsports #84 plans to travel to some end of season races including Flamboro Speedways Frostoberfest and Autumn Colours Classic at Peterborough Speedway.
With Mother Nature ruining most of the racing action to start the season. Opening night for Jacob got rained out at Grand Bend Speedway and it would be two weeks before the 84 would make it's return to the speedway. When the team got to Grand Bend the night started off on a sour note as something in the motor broke. The night wasn't a complete waste as they were able to borrow a late model from Gord Bennett to start the season. Though the night started off sour the end result was Jacob wheeling the #70 car to not one, but two feature wins on the night.
The team went to work to get the 84 machine back together and ready to go for race night #2. Though the second night got rained out the team was ready to go for race #3 on July 6th. Carb and brake issues were still plaguing the team. Jacob overcame diversity and scored himself a second and a third in the double features. Jacob and the Ross Motorsports team is back in action this weekend at Grand Bend Speedway for Fan Appreciation Night. Racing Gets underway at 6:30pm.
