Megan Mitchell: A Look Ahead for 2025!

As the offseason draws to a close, Megan Mitchell is gearing up for an exciting 2025 season in the Flamboro Speedway Pure Stock division. With a full schedule ahead, she's focused on having fun, improving, and supporting her teammates as they push for success.
Plans for 2025
Megan's main goal for the 2025 season is simple: have fun and maintain perfect attendance. With a packed schedule in the Pure Stock division at Flamboro Speedway, staying dedicated is key. “We have a massive Pure Stock schedule at Flamboro, so it’s going to take a lot of dedication,” Megan said. “All four of us are pushing for a solid finish in the points, so we plan to tackle the season with a TON of grit and grace.”
Goals for the Season
Each season, Megan aims to enjoy herself on the track. But this year, there’s an added challenge: overcoming her anxieties. Since returning in late 2023, she has been battling anxiety but feels that 2025 is the year to make her comeback. “My goal is to overcome my anxieties and have my car running competitively every week,” she shared. “I just want to achieve it respectfully, while learning from my mistakes, because we all make mistakes! Learning to overcome the fear of mistakes is another goal of mine.”
Looking Ahead to Events
While there isn’t one specific race that stands out, Megan is excited about any event where she can engage with the community. From parades to car shows and "Touch a Truck" events, she enjoys sharing her passion for racing outside of the track. “Attending these events has been such a fun way to connect with others,” she said. And when it comes to racing, the Tuesday Gold Rush race is one she’s particularly excited for. “I already have the day booked off of work—who wouldn’t want to race instead of going to work?”
Toughest Competitor
When it comes to competition, Megan isn’t focusing on other drivers. “My toughest competitor and critic will always be myself,” she said. “There’s no driver I want to beat more than the driver I was last year, or even last weekend.” That said, a little friendly family competition doesn’t hurt, “But if I can beat my Dad, Brother, and Sister just once… I’ll take it. They’re fierce competition, hahaha.”
Looking Forward to Flamboro
No travelling for Megan this year—she’s all about the Flamboro Speedway! “So Flamboro it is!” she laughed. The local track is where she plans to make her mark this season.
Leaving 2024 Behind
When reflecting on 2024, Megan is ready to leave it behind and focus on the future. “It felt like a really disappointing year for myself,” she admitted. “I want to leave all of the fear and anxiety in 2024, but bring the new mindset with me: ‘Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.’” Megan sees the lessons from 2024 as fuel for her fire in 2025.
