Motorama 2025 Recap!

The 2025 Motorama Custom Car & Motorsports Expo has concluded for the 2025 season and as always we had ourselves a blast. This year editions was amazing, Jon and Brandon were on hand all weekend completing 7 1/2 shows. We also had the return of the podcasters slot car racing and this year we through in a twist. Let's break it down shall we?

On Friday, the doors opened and kids from high schools filed into the Toronto International Centre. We unveiled our cornhole boards that we will be raffling off in June. With the money going directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. As many of you know, Jon lost his mom to cancer 14 years ago this year and wanted to donate to the cause while supplying a lucky winner with a game set that brings family and friends together. From 12pm-3pm showgoers would have caught live recordings of the True North Racing Podcast. First up, we were joined by Michael Robinson III who was in attendance with his #95 NAPA Auto Parts/Cintas Honda Civic. We got to learn about how Michael got into racing as he is a third generation driver. What he is looking forward to his season and what he is hoping to accomplish. As we let Michael go, Brandon and Jon did some back and forth till we saw Hayden from the Ontario Offroad Trucks. Jon was in talks to have them join us on stage but with timing not working out we had an impromptu interview with Hayden as he talked about the Ontario Offroad Racing series.

In the second hour of the show Jon and Brandon were joined on stage by Cam K from the Stickers N' Scuffs Podcast, Nathaniel Greenaway driver of the #93 from the Ontario Sportsman Series and Phil Givens who is the head of tech at Sauble Speedway in 2025. While the five us were on stage we ended up trying out some beef jerky from Rogue Meat Company courtesy of Nathaniel and it was some of the best jerky we have tried. Onto the third show of the day we had the always lovely Jennifer Hatch. We caught up with Jenn and chatted with her about what she'll be up to this season as she returns as the Race Director for the Great Lakes Legend Series and what she'll be up to this summer.

On Saturday, much of the same was happening as the podcasters were having a good time. Jon and Brandon were scheduled for two programs. Though that quickly changed to Jon announcing a slot car race and an impromptu interview with Wally Wilson. During the 12pm slot we welcomed back to the stage Michael Robinson III and Connor Ross, shortly after Jon and Brandon were joined on stage by fellow podcaster James Jordan from the Wild World Of Motorsports and even a surprise from Brent Otchere who runs the Ohsweken Speedway socials.

During the 1:00pm time slot Jon and Brandon rounded up some drivers including Keaton Pipe, Wally Wilson, Brandon Feeney and Nathaniel Greenaway. As well as some media personalities including Jon, Brandon, Brent and James Jordan. In the podcasters races it was Brandon Feeney racing his way to the top. When all was said and done Feeney was a three time slot car champion at the Yesterdays Speedway Slot Car Track. Following the slot race races, camera man Bryce, Jon and Brandon made their way back to the stage and chatted with Wally Wilson to see what he will be up to

After a "quick" break Jon and Brandon headed back up to the stage for their. third show of the day on the Gulf Race Fuels Racing Zone stage. At 3:00pm the duo were joined on stage to start off with Kody Cook and catch up with Kody and see what his 2025 plans were going to look like. We were then joined on stage by the 2024 Sunset Speedway Mini Stock Champion Jacob Sutcliffe to talk about what he's been up to. Kyle DeSouza came on stage to talk more in depth about the Ontario Offroad Racing club. To wrap up our final show of the day we were joined by Jonathon Howe and Beef from Dirt Beers and the Southern Ontario Dirt Show to catch up and get to know Beef a bit.

On Sunday, The True North Racing Podcast had the lightest show load of the day as Jon and Brandon only had one show on the schedule that day with a 11am and a 12pm time slot featuring Michael Robinson III. Also joining us on stage was Will Marche from Buxton Speedway. At the 11am time slot we were joined by Ken Mercer from the Southern Ontario Modified Association (SOMA) to learn about the modifieds and understand how Ken Mercer joined very rare company as he got to race his son and grandson. Making it a rare occasion of three generations competing in one race. Damin Sawyer from the Wild World Of Motorsports and Cory McAllister from Two Speed Motorsports joined us on stage as we caught up with each and learned about some of the cool things Two Speedway Motorsports got going on. It was great to catch up with Damin and as Jon and Brandon haven't seen him since the 2024 Motorama show.

On the 12pm program to kick us off we had Buxton Speedway owner Will Marche join us to talk about Buxton Speedway and to give away some apparel as they are looking to make new apparel in 2025. Michael Robinson III joined us for his final show of the weekend though I'm sure he was getting tired of seeing Brandon and Jon each day. Everyone had a good time.

Over the course of the weekend Jon was able to make lots of connections in the Boneyard Podcast Corner. Meeting some of our newest drivers and seeing some familiar faces. We can't thank Jae Pepin and Peps Pro Painting for making our trip possible and for supporting our efforts of promoting JoMo Media and the True North Racing Podcast. Now it's time to turn our attention to the 2025 race season which will be coming up here in less than a month.
